After two years of devotion to helping people, seeing many students developed the goal to Wake Up, Zen Master agreed to settle in Houston. Zen Master and her students found an acreage property on Charles Lane in Sugar Land, TX. Universal Door Meditation Center was founded in 2003. Many Venerables (Monks and nuns) and numerous students attended the grand opening celebration of the meditation center.

As Zen Master’s Great Vow continued to awaken the Awake potential in more and more students, the activities of the Center outgrew the original property on Charles Lane. In 2016, the students came together to support the purchase of the new Awake Center on a spacious 9-acre property just a mile away. With plenty of room to grow, Universal Door continues to welcome people of all backgrounds to walk together on the journey to Wake Up, end the source of attachments that causes all stress and conflict, and live truly happy, in any situation, disturbed by nothing.
